Following extensive consultation with experts in salinity management, and significant desktop reviews, the 2006 Update adds more than 100 new research papers, journal articles and other resources of importance for management, research and policy. It contains new information about the extent of salinity on a state-by-state basis, the causes, the impacts and recommendations for the 'next steps' in relation to app application of salinity research and development for management and capacity building.

Project Summary CSE9 Testing approaches to landscape design in cropping lands The project evaluates currently used methods for determining where revegetation should be located in the landscape for the additional purposes of determining how much revegetation is required, and whether revegetation designed for one group of species meets the needs of other groups of species. The project will provide guidance for people involved in large-scale revegetation and enhancement efforts in cropping lands.

In WaterWheel 9 we particularly focus on _educational issues for irrigators. A study commissioned by NPIRD looks at educational issues that need to be addressed to equip irrigators to deal better with the 21st century. We also report on a two-day forum initiated by the Irrigation Association of Australia (IAA) to begin the process of improving educational opportunities for irrigators.

Final report on Project MIL1 : Objectives 1. To develop a practical set of hydraulic performance indicators for a gravity fed irrigation system which could be applied nationally and internationally; 2.
