Do Cotton Pathogens indicate poor soil healthΓ
Date Issued:2004-08-12
Abstract
Soil health has been defined as "e; the capacity of soil to function as a vital living system, within ecosystem and land-use boundaries, to sustain plant and animal productivity, maintain or enhance water and air quality, and promote plant and animal health"e; (Doran and Zeiss 2000). However, the microorganisms within soil ecosystems clearly did not evolve with the specific purpose of supporting and sustaining the repetitive monocultures of modem agriculture
