Cottongrowers in central Queensland (CQ) enjoy no advantage over southern counterparts in the range of insect pests that attack their crop.

The aim of this project was to develop a mass screening technique for the selection of cotton plant antibiosis resistance (AR) to H. armigera.

Host Plant resistance is one such method and has been adopted in developing plant resistance to a range of plant problems. Plants posses both natural physiological and chemical defence mechanisms.
